Katie Cone

Katie began playing piano at age 5, where she quickly fell in love with the instrument and has been playing ever since. By fourth grade, she decided to take after her mom and learn violin. She began taking private violin lessons, and also joined her elementary orchestra. In her elementary orchestra, she was one of two students chosen to play in All-County orchestra. She took on first chair during different points in her middle and high school orchestras. She began participating in Solo and Ensemble, and won eight first place medals for violin. While in middle school choir, she also accompanied her classmates on the piano for certain pieces. In high school, she picked up the guitar, ukulele, and guilele. She has always had a love for singing and songwriting, and has been taking voice lessons. She is attending CU Denver, and plans on getting her degree in Music with an emphasis in Singer/Songwriting. She is currently learning cello, and is always looking for ways to expand her music knowledge. She enjoys sharing her love for music through performing at different events, whether on the stage of her church or at conferences.

Katie has been teaching violin and piano for about two years, and loves challenging her students to be the best they can be, but also making sure that they understand the material and are having fun! She focuses primarily on sight reading, technique, ear training, and theory.
