Katie Berglof holds her bachelor degree in music performance on French horn from the University of Northern Iowa and is gradually pursuing a graduate degree in music education at CU-Boulder.
She currently teaches brass and woodwinds, kinder-violin, and ECE music for El Sistema Colorado; a non-profit organization that provides music education to Denver title 1 schools and aims to make positive change in at-risk communities.
As an educator, Katie is a multi-instrumentalist who teaches horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba/euphonium, flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, guitar, and piano. She has experience teaching middle and high school band, general music ed pre-K through 5th, and has Montessori training.
As a horn player she has been trained by reputable professionals, and she has primarily held principal horn positions in several orchestras and ensembles in the Midwest throughout her career.
Katie has a passion for writing, and is an advocate for musician's health and injury prevention. She is a member of the International Horn Society, Performing Arts Medical Association, and the National Association for Music Educators.
