Jamie Beekman began her musical endeavors when she was 8 years old by singing in the school choir. Ever since the moment that she began to sing and musically grow she was incredibly attached to the idea of pursuing music as a career. She hasn’t ever taken a break from music since she started; in fact, she decided to add more musical instruments to her collection.
While attending Lakewood High School she decided to learn the piano in order for her to gain a better fundamental understanding of music for her career. In high school, she sang in all of the choirs and even played in the orchestra. She performed in the show Jekyll and Hyde and participated in a few more plays. She also studied voice privately with Beverly Fernald.
o continue her studying, Jamie has pursued two degrees (Contemporary Vocal Performance and Recording Arts) at Colorado University at Denver. She has had the opportunity to study with Leslie Soich and perform with school groups at both UCD (9th Street Singers) and Metropolitan State College (Chorale).
Jamie’s passion in life is music and she is always trying to expand her knowledge in the area. She loves studying music and is open to trying almost any style. She also performs in a blues rock band (the Jonglare) and several other groups in the Denver area. Her hobbies outside of music include spending time with horses and bunnies, hiking, reading, and traveling.
