Angel Edgemon grew up in Eastern Tennessee. She started playing mandolin and guitar shortly after her grandparents took her to a bluegrass festival in their neighboring town when she was 15. Being immersed in a culture of roots music she eventually found her self in Johnson City, Tn. There she attended the 'Bluegrass, Country, and Old-time Music Studies' Program at East Tennessee State University. Where she also Minored in Appalachian Studies. While at ETSU she studied guitar, voice, mandolin, and Upright bass (which is her instrument of choice now). She has been involved in different genres of ensembles and bands including; Bluegrass, Old Time, Country, Celtic, Jazz, and Original. She toured with a Traditional Bluegrass band, 'Larry Gillis and Swampgrass,' all around the eastern united states while going to school. She also taught guitar and and mandolin at Chuckey School of Music.
She moved to Golden, Co two years ago. You can find her today playing with her band Heavy Beauty, filling in with other bands around the area, and playing solo gigs.
